Make A Splash

Whether it's a formal swimming club, vacation swimming lessons or just sweatin' it up in the sauna... our pool deck is safe, fun and awesome! We've also got a steam room, massive spa and kiddies super slide. With our full time supervisors always keeping an eye on things all you have to do is get the most out of our Olympic sized pool and kiddies aqua playground. All this is all part of the full membership deals, or just drop in for a swim and pick or choose what suits... either way you can always make a splash at the South West Sports Centre.

Competition Pool

Boasting a 10 lane 50m pool heated to 26° - 28°, this pool is available for use by both the serious, elite or not so serious swimmers.

25m Lap Pool

Utilised for lap swimming, water-walking and swimming lessons, this is a versatile pool that is for use by people of all ages and abilities. Heated, 30° - 32°.

Spas, Sauna and Steam Room

Great to relax after a swim or at the end of a busy day, please note this area is restricted for use by patrons over 16 years of age.

Leisure Pool

This pool, heated to a beautiful 30° - 32°, is used for swimming lessons, gentle exercise and family play. Our leisure pool also incorporates a giant water slide and rapid river.

Giant Inflatable

At 14.4m long, our giant inflatable is available for birthday parties, private hire and is regularly available for the general public. Incorporating a swing, the giant inflatable caters for those of the older age group (8 years and up) who like a challenge. See-Saw Inflatable

Better suited to the littlies, our see-saw adds a new dimension to birthday parties. At 2.6m long, the see saw accommodates up to 4 children at a time. Not recommended for children over 8 years of age.

Watch Around Water

The South West Sports Centre is an endorsed 'Watch around Water' aquatic centre. 'Watch around Water' is an initiative of the Royal Life Saving Society of WA and aims to educate the community about adequate child supervision in a public aquatic centre. It encourages parents/guardians to be responsible for supervising their children in a public aquatic facility.

Supervision Requirements

Children under 13 years must be accompanied and constantly supervised by a parent/guardian (at least 16 years of age). The parent/guardian must have a clear view of the child at all times.

Children under 4 years must be accompanied in the water and remain within arms reach of the parent/guardian at all times.

In Term Swimming Lessons

The South West Sports Centre offers a comprehensive Learn-to-Swim program catering for swimmers aged 6 months to adults and all ability levels. Lessons are offered Monday to Saturday and during School Holidays. All lessons are conducted by Austswim qualified and experienced teachers in pools heated to 32° all year round.

Little Lappers Swim School is Austswim accredited and endorsed by the Royal Life Saving Society Australia using the Swim and Survive Program.

Aquababies

Structured water familiarisation classes encourage infants to explore and experience the aquatic environment in a safe, enjoyable manner. Parent participation is required as parent education is the main focus of these classes.

Over the summer period we will be commencing "Twighlight Baby Classes". These will run at 5.50pm on Mondays and Wednesdays for 30 minutes starting in Term 4. These classes have been set up for parents that work during the week and prefer to keep their wekends free. Mondays will be for the younger infants in Aquababy 2-3 and Wednesdays for the older infants in Aquababy 4-5. Classes will be held initially on a trial basis. Pre-school

This ability driven program ensures a transition from water familiarisation to swimming safety skills. Parent participation may be required.

School age

This program is based on stroke development, water safety, personal development, fun and fitness whilst focussing on each child's ability and progression at their own pace.

Adult lessons

Adult beginner classes focus on building water confidence and introduces basic stroke techniques to non-swimmers. Adult Stroke Development classes correct existing techniques and expand the individuals swimming skills. * Minimum participant numbers apply.

Squad training

Aimed at the competent swimmer, squad swimming focus’ on stroke correction and development, endurance and speed.

Private lessons

We offer customised one-on-one lessons to cater for the needs of the individual. We also offer classes for two children. All private lessons are 30 minutes in duration and are available by appointment only.

Bronze medallion

We offer Bronze Medallion courses throughout the year. The Bronze Medallion training program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to react appropriately in a number of different aquatic emergency situations. Holiday swim program

Our Holiday Swim Program runs during the October and December/January school holidays. Classes are available for Aquababies through to Stage 4, as well as Flipper Fun Program, adult lessons and private 1 on 1 sessions. Click here to download our Holiday Swim Brochure

Enrolments are now open for October Holiday Swim Program which runs between 10th to 14th October 2011

Enrolments for January 2012 Holiday Swim Program will be taken from the 7th of November 2011. The program runs from the 9th to 20th January 2012. Two 5 Day series and One 10 Day series.
